Sonim and Bivision Systems Partner to Enable Rapid Deployment of VoIP-Based PTT Solutions
San Mateo, CA and San Diego, CA -- August 30, 2006
Sonim Technologies, a leading provider of high-performance mobile VoIP and IMS-based “push-to-X” applications for today's mobile data networks, and BIVISION Systems International, leading developer of carrier-grade business process management solutions, today announced a product collaboration agreement that will offer mobile operators Sonim’s turn-key OMA PoC 1.0 standard push-to-talk solution in conjunction with BIVISION’S network integration platform, InVisionJ Systems.

InVisionJ centralizes network usage, configuration data, and network description information, along with reusable Service Oriented Architecture (“SOA”) based applications. The platform has become a facilitator for integration and rapid deployment of new applications within a single operation. Services such as billing, mediation, O&M and GIS are made available to all new providers. Such capabilities avoid the tedious activity of network legacy information gathering, which is usually only available to insider infrastructure vendors.

Initially, this agreement will focus on operations where BIVISION’S NMS and C-DMS (Carrier – Decision Management Systems) platform, InVisionJ Systems, is already installed and in use by wireless operations teams. Such specialization is imposed in order to expedite the time to market for both companies, by leveraging the existing relationship established between the local team at BIVISION and the local operational staff.

Mr. Bassim Karkachi, BIVISION Group CEO, explains, “SOA means the reuse and recycling of otherwise time-consuming activities for the introduction of new services in GSM and CDMA, whose initial phases are dedicated to understanding the legacy networks, organizing the integration and accessing proprietary data or configurations from each infrastructure vendor. We virtualize and normalize network information, and make it open to new innovations. Such innovation can be in the form of automating operational analysis and reporting through mathematical modelling, or in the form of facilitating new service adoption such as Sonim PoC.”

“This partnership will enable mobile operators to leverage proven BPM tools in support of rapid and inexpensive deployments Sonim’s OMA PoC 1.0 push-to-talk solution,” said Paul Longhenry, Sonim’s VP Business Development. “We believe this combination will offer immediate ROI benefits to BIVISION’s installed customer base.”
