Sonim Announces OMA PoC Client - Symbian Edition
San Mateo, CA -- February 15, 2006
Sonim releases commercially available, downloadable Xperience™ PoC Client providing OMA compliant PTT functionality for Symbian series 60 devices

Sonim Technologies, the leader in enabling today's mobile data networks to deliver high-performance VoIP applications, today announced the Sonim Xperience™ PoC Client - Symbian Edition.

Sonim XPC Symbian is the first commercially available PoC client for Series 60 devices that is compliant with Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) industry standards for Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC). Sonim Xperience PoC Client - Symbian Edition supports all protocols and functionality required for interoperability with network infrastructure utilizing OMA PoC specifications.

Sonim XPC Symbian is well integrated with other Series 60 applications, sharing a common look and feel. The user can easily toggle between PoC and other applications, and XPC Symbian can be configured to start automatically. PTT sessions can be started by pressing the PTT button, enabling the user to access the contact list with only 1-click.

Through customized WAP enabled downloads, users can download XPC Symbian directly to their Symbian phones. This allows for effortless OTA updates of the client, as well as creating a viral vehicle for PoC usage.

"Sonim's extension of our PoC Client line to Symbian platforms demonstrates our commitment to developing applications that can quickly deliver ROI to wireless operators. The downloadable version of Sonim XPC Symbian is an excellent tool for stimulating viral adoption of PTT service, by allowing users to SMS their friends the XPC download URL," says Bob Plaschke, CEO of Sonim.

XPC Symbian is currently available for several Nokia and Panasonic phones, including the Nokia 6680 series and Nokia E60. New models are continuously being added.

Sonim will be demonstrating XPC on live operator networks at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, February 13-16, 2006.
